The Sandoval County Fair offers the most fun a family can have without busting its budget. This week-long annual event truly offers events that appeal to folks of all ages.
Starting at five years old, kids and teens can enter the Junior Rodeo. If that’s not to their liking, they can raise farm animals and match their best against other participants in 4H-sponsored contests that end with the prize-winning animals being auctioned for cash.
Adults also have a variety of ways to compete at the fair—from their own rodeo to cooking, baking, quilting and arts and crafts contests.
There’s also a special day for Senior Citizens highlighted by a picnic that includes dancing with live music. And let’s not forget what’s sure to be everyone’s favorite event—the annual County Fair Parade.
The 2016 Sandoval County Fair runs August 1 through 7 at the scenic county fairgrounds in Cuba, New Mexico. A single adult can get a full-day pass for $5.00, with passes for youth 12 and under going for only $3.00. However, the best deal is a $25 family pass that buys entry for the entire fair if you pre-purchase. Family pass at the gate is $40.
If you really want to be part of the fun, review the links on the left side of this page, and fill out an application for the competition of your choice. There also are applications for vendors and concessionaires.
We hope to see you all at the fair.
