The Division Mission Statement:
The Community Services Division is committed to improve the quality of life of our citizens by providing access to culturally sensitive, comprehensive health and social services.

The Community Services Division is comprised of three primary programs:
  ♦ Community Health
  ♦ DWI and Prevention
  ♦ Senior Services

The Community Health Program is located in the Health Commons Building at 1500 Idalia Road, Bldg. B in Bernalillo which also houses the NM Dept. of Health, Public Health Office. The program provides on site Medicaid Application Assistance and Renewal, Prenatal Classes, Oral Health preventive services such as exams, cleanings and x-rays provided by a Dentist, Dental Hygienist and Dental Assistant and the County Indigent Fund Program called the Health Care Assistance Program. The DWI and Prevention Program provides comprehensive services to address Substance Abuse, Prevention and Education. The Program has trained staff in all aspects of DWI treatment and Prevention activities. They are located at 711 Camino del Pueblo in Bernalillo, NM. The Senior Services Program provides a wide variety of services through 5 senior centers, 2 meal sites, a Senior Transportation Program, Frail and Elder Services and Volunteer Program which includes Foster Grandparents, Senior Companions, Senior Employment and Retired Senior Volunteers. In addition, the Division also oversees fiscal agent responsibilities for a USDHUD Shelter Plus Care Project providing tenant based housing for the chronically mentally ill managed by La Buena Vida and oversees the management contract for the Sandoval County Ropes Course located at the National Guard Armory on SR 550.
